Today, the vessel is the last operating example of the Puget Sound Mosquito fleet steamer and is moored in Lake Union. Calling all Pacific Northwest artists! The museum is seeking proposals for three opportunities, including group exhibitions of existing visual artworks and proposals for artists-in-residence and new media installations.

Expiration date: March 10, 2023. Installed in Smith Island Lighthouse in 1885, this Fresnel lens has guided ships 17 miles into the Strait of Juan de Fuca for more than 72 years. Later in 1950 the lighthouse was abandoned.
Seattle continues the 50+ year partnership between MOHAI and the Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society (PSMHS). Located in the historic Bridge Room of the Naval Reserve Building, the McCurdy Family Marine Gallery features stunning views of Lake Union and its bustling world of boats, planes, paddlers and wildlife.

It doesn't. Now open Friday & Saturday 10am-5pm!!! The Seattle Veterans Museum is located on 2nd Avenue between Union and University Sts (west of Benroya Hall) in downtown Seattle. This is the site of the Garden of Remembrance, a beautiful granite wall monument erected in 1998 that lists all Washington state soldiers who have died in war since 1940.

Setting The Course
The Chittenden Locks—commonly known as the Bollard Locks—were officially completed in 1934 and connected Lake Union, Salmon Bay, and Lake Washington. The canal changed the way Seattle's residents and businesses operated. Take Dearborn Street exit 164A toward James/Madison/Dearborn.

This machine has two independent handles as it is specially designed for twin engine/propeller boats where the engines can be set at different speeds.

Beneath Puget Sound
The Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society (PSMHS) has been an active participant in the region's maritime community since it began sailing in 1948, and has partnered with MOHAI for more than 50 years. The Society maintains a collection of ship models and other maritime artifacts, as well as historic photographs, ship plans and books.
Located near downtown Seattle, Lake Union Park is located on the historic waterfront and is managed by the City of Seattle. Enjoy water activities like splashing in the fountain or kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming or watching events on Lake Union.

As Seattle grew from a pioneer city to a bustling metropolis, the maritime industry evolved to meet the needs of businesses and consumers. Henry Finch, the "King of Divers," was one such entrepreneur, the owner of a family-owned diving company that salvaged ships in the early 1900s.
Finch wore this helmet on many dives around Puget Sound. Lake Union is the geographic center of Seattle and has undergone many changes over the years that have influenced the growth and development of the city.
